Roberto has a degree in Business Administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Brazil (1973). He worked in Technology at the Casa de la Moneda and the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro until 1978 when he came to obtain his MBA at New York University (1980).

In 1980, he began working for American Express until his retirement in 2007.

He was President of Amex Argentina and Brazil and in 1997 he came to Miami as President of Amex Latin America.

Roberto lives in Miami and was a member of the Beacon Council, The Council of the Americas, and FIU Business School Dean’s Council.

Since 2010 he is a member of the Baptist Health International Advisory Board.
